Wedding Gown Styles - Train Lengths

There are so many different style choices for wedding dresses that it can become confusing trying to decide what is best for you! Just picking a train length brings you to a number of choices! Here is a over view of the most common terms and what they mean! Hopefully, this will help you determine what type of train is best for you.
Floor Length or No Train: Shown in our first photo, this is perfect for an informal wedding gown or a garden wedding gown, and can also be done for a semi-formal wedding gown if you wish.
Sweeping Train: Shown in our second photo, this is the shortest train and is also called a brush train because it just brushes the floor. It is perfect for an elegant informal or semi-formal wedding gown. Dress shown: Asia - 2006 Dreams Collection - Chrys Cross Bridal
Chapel Length Train: Shown in our third photo, a chapel train is generally 1 1/3 yards or 4 feet from the waistline. This is perfect for a semi-formal wedding gown but could be used for a formal or informal wedding gown as well. Dress Shown: Orchid - 2006 Dreams Collection - Chrys Cross Bridal

Semi-Cathedral Length Train: Shown in our fourth photo, a semi-cathedral is about half way between a chapel and cathedral length. Perfect for a semi-formal or formal wedding gown. Dress shown: Bianca -2006 Dreams Collection - Chrys Cross Bridal
Cathedral Length Train: Shown in our fifth photo, a cathedral train is generally 2 1/2 or 7 1/2 feet from the waistline. A cathedral length train is usually used for a formal wedding gown. Dress shown: Tabitha - 2006 Dreams Collection - Chrys Cross Bridal
Royal Train: I don't have a photo for this one, but if you dream is to have a Princess Di train, this is it! Also called a Monarch train, this train falls 9 ft from the waist line and is generally only used for the most formal wedding gowns.
